Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of Kenspeck (the “game”), a daily word game available at PLACEHOLDER_URL. By playing, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the game.

1. The game is provided as it is

Kenspeck is offered free, for personal entertainment, on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular puzzle, clue, translation, or fact is accurate. Glosses and etymologies are editorial and may be simplified.

2. Who owns what

The game and everything in it — the software, the puzzle corpus, the clues, the “fact” notes, the visual design, and the Kenspeck name and wordmark — are owned by the owner named above or its licensors, and are protected by copyright, database rights, trade mark law, and other rights. Nothing in these terms transfers any of those rights to you.

3. What you may do

You are given a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to play the game for your own non-commercial enjoyment, and to share your own spoiler-free result grid. That is all.

4. What you may not do

5. Sharing your result

The result you copy to share is designed to be spoiler-free and contains no answer text. You are responsible for what you post. Please don’t spoil the daily word for others.

6. Cross-device backup codes

If you choose to back up your streak, an anonymous copy of your play statistics is stored under a random code so you can restore it on another device. Keep the code private if you don’t want others to load your statistics. See the Privacy notice.

7. No warranty; limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the game is provided without warranties of any kind, and the owner is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of it, including lost statistics or streaks. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Changes

We may update the game and these terms from time to time. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. Material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date above.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
